{Birds} Dancing in the Moonlight

The annual sandhill crane migration through Nebraska was calling to me this year (and a phone call from a friend reminding me about it!), so I (with my same friend) headed out to Kearney, Nebraska (from Longmont, CO).  Lo and behold, it was a full moon too.  About a half a million cranes stop over here along the Platte River to rest and restore about 20% of their body weight for their migration north.

And coincidentally, the NBC News team was there at the same time we were…click here to watch it and hear it.  Thanks to the Rowe Sanctuary for working to preserve this special species and its endangered habitat.
